Gravity View

Gravity view is one of the best views in the city of Altadena. This is our first entry in Altadena and a great way to start it. Gravity view is a view point located in Northern Altadena. This spot is relatively easy to get to and you will never have to leave your car. If you're familiar with Gravity Hill, this spot is just next to it. To get here you'll just need to take Lake St. all the way to the top and go East on Dolores Dr. to a dried up lake. Here continue on the street and take a left on Zane Grey Ter. Here just take that street until you reach the view. At the top of the street there's a little stretch of dirt to park and stand on to enjoy the view. Remember to be careful because it's an extremely steep hill and the dirt platform is only - roughly - eight-feet long. This viewpoint looks over all of Pasadena and even goes to show Downtown in the far distance. This place is perfect for capturing a perfect sunset. Zane Grey Terrace, Altadena, CA 91001, USA

The Batman House

The front of the "Batman House" The Batman house is one of the best views in the Pasadena Area. It's super easy to get to with a location just south of the 210. In this highly affluent area you'll come upon an abandoned mansion. At the house you'll initially see a large gate. Past the gate, there is a long and steep driveway that is pretty eerie at night. At the top of the driveway there are two stairways leading to a foundation to a burnt down mansion. The entire house brings a feeling of paranoia. This mansion was built in the early 20th century and was used in many movies such as Clue, Rocky V, and Batman. However, a few years ago, this mansion located on a 3.3-acre piece of land, was burnt to the floor. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but what we do know is that it's an incredible view. The view of the Batman House is phenomenal. At the highest point of the property you can see all the way to the Sierra Madre mountains. Bet...

Candy Mountain/ Cyclops Mountain

If you live in South Pasadena or Pasadena, chances are you know about this little hill in the Arroyo. Most people driving on Arroyo Drive would usually miss this viewpoint, but after you go once, it's impossible to miss. Candy Mountain or Cyclops Mountain is in the middle of the Arroyo, and can be a little confusing to get to. What you're going to want to do is, find a safe entrance into the valley from Arroyo Drive, then you'll see a steep hill. Climbing this hill is physically tiring... it's seriously a workout. However, once you reach the top, it is definitely worth it. Candy Mountain looks over the whole arroyo and you'll get a beautiful view of "Suicide Bridge." This spot is extremely secluded, so if you ever want a place to relax and/or collect your thoughts this is the perfect spot for you! Although this is a wonderful view, getting down in a challenge; What I recommend is to use the three limbs technique (using 3/4 of your limbs) and scale do...

Jesus Hill

Jesus Hill can be described in one word, stunning. After driving up Lida St. and taking a left onto Figueroa Street, what you'll find is a gated off hiking trail. When walking up the trail, you'll encounter a huge ground carving that clearly states "JESUS CHRIST IS GOD" and this is where we're assuming the name Jesus Hill originated from. Jesus Hill has multiple viewing points, but whichever you pick, you will not be disappointed. Jesus Hill looks over the Rose Bowl all the way to Old Town. However, if you hike further into the trail, you'll encounter another viewpoint that faces the complete opposite way towards Downtown LA. We've been here both during the day and during the night. What we found was that Jesus Hill  has a totally different vibe and view depending on the time of day. We recommend coming here at least once each; during the day and during the night. In the day, you will get to enjoy a clear view of the vegetation and the vastness of Pasa...
